Irrigation & Command Area Development (I&CAD) department has proposed to divert 80 TMC of Godavari waters into River Krishna through Indirasagar Right Main Canal (ISRMC). It is proposed to drop ISRMC into Budameru on the upstream of the existing Velagaleru regulator and then convey the discharge through Budameru Diversion Channel upto upstream of Prakasam Barrage. It is proposed to enhance the discharge carrying capacity of Budameru Diversion Channel from the existing capacity (Km. 0.0 to Km. 8.3 is 424.749 Cumecs and from Km. 8.3 to Km. 9.7 is 467.224 Cumecs to 1064 Cumecs) by lining and deepening the existing channel section.
ConTec completed the job of studying the safety and stability of existing structures and preparation of detailed drawings for strengthening of various structures across Budameru Diversion Channel at Dr. NT Thermal Power Station consequent to the deepening of Budameru Diversion Channel to augment the discharge through the channel. The work was carried out for Dr. Narla Tatarao Thermal Power Station, Ibrahimpatnam, and APGENCO.
Vijayawada Thermal Power Station (VTPS) was commissioned in the Year 1979-1980. The earth bunds of ash pond were constructed along with the project. In one of the earth bund of ash pond, seepage and slips were observed between rock toe and berms & at bund at different locations. The ConTec suggested on providing of loading berm to strengthen the bund and it was implemented. The scope of ConTec included design, engineering and preparation of construction drawings for the strengthening of bund. The work was carried out for Dr. Narla Tatarao Thermal Power Station, Ibrahimpatnam, and APGENCO.
Geospatial Survey
The hydrographic and topographic survey works were carried out by ConTec for APGENCO, for construction of three-dimensional model for studying the hydraulic performance of the existing spillway being taken up at AP Engineering Research Laboratories.
Bathymetric Survey in the reservoir portion using water sonar sensors, GPS etc. was done. Work included bathymetric survey for 330 Ha of reservoir portion, establishment of Bench mark level at site by carrying levels from the nearest GTS bench mark adopting closed circuit levelling and other ancillary works.

Value Engineering
Singareni Collieries Company Limited contemplated acquiring additional area and expansion of Ramagundam Opencast area. Bokkala vagu conveying the surplus discharges of Gundaram, Begampet tanks and its self catchment into Godavari River flows through the Ramagundam Opencast area, raising serious flood threats and safety concerns to the miners. Hence, it was proposed to divert the Bokkalavagu outside the proposed Opencast area without affecting the lower riparian rights, SRSP canal network and the configuration of Bokkalavagu.
ConTec’s objective is to formulate the most suitable project proposal and put forward a Feasibility Report encompassing all the issues to enable smooth implementation of the diversion project. The objective of the Feasibility Report was broadly classified into five parts.
A. Hydrology & Survey of Bokkalavagu Catchment area study and assessment of the flow discharge through Bokkalavagu. Discharge computation based on the available rain gauge readings in the catchment, cross-sectional survey of Bokkalavagu and surplus channel of Begampet tank and preparation of Tail Water Rating Curve for varying discharges in Bokkalavagu.
B. Survey, Geotechnical Investigation & Design of Diversion Channel Survey and identification of alternate alignments for diversion canal, finalization of most suitable alignment along with locations of Cross Masonry (CM) & Cross Drainage (CD) works, transfer of final alignment on ground, geotechnical investigation by Electro Resistivity Method, design of diversion channel (preparation of Hydraulic Particulars) and preparation of detailed Cost Estimate and Land Plan schedules in accordance with the requirements of revenue department.
C. Toe Protection for Excavated Spoil Dump Drawings for protection of Toe for excavated spoil dump to avoid slip and damage to the proposed Bokkalavagu diversion channel.
D. Survey, Geotechnical Investigation & Design of CM & CD Works Carrying out topographical survey, geotechnical investigations by Electro Resistivity Method, specification design, drawings and detailed estimate of Cross Masonry & Cross Drainage works along the proposed Bokkalavagu Diversion Channel.
E. Preparation of Feasibility Report The Feasibility Report shall be prepared providing the best and most suitable alignment of the Bokkalavagu diversion channel after studying all possible alignments. The Feasibility report shall be prepared in line with the guidelines laid down by Irrigation & Command Area Development Department of Andhra Pradesh.
A 3D Printed model was prepared for Dravyavatio River Rejuvenation Project, Jaipur, Rajasthan to showcase the project at its experience centre. The Entire model was printed using 3D printing machine and the printed parts were put together to form the model of the project.
Contec provided technical backup to the agency for printing the scaled model of Kurnool Solar Park. Entire park along with the amenities were depicted in the model. The Entire model was printed using 3D printing machine and the printed parts were put together to form the model of the project.

Vedanta Alumina Limited (VAL), a subsidiary of Vedanta Resources PLC, had proposed to set up a Green field Aluminium Smelter of 5 Lakh TPA capacity with 1200 MW Captive Power Plant at Jharsuguda, Orissa, India. Tender for design, engineering and construction of Ash Dyke in two phases on EPC basis was called for. Peripheral dyke length of Phase # 1 was 6 Kms (approximately) and for Phase # 2 was 4 Kms (approximately). The total area involved in both the phases was 1,000 acres approx. The ash disposal system to be installed was the state of art "High Concentration Slurry Disposal System" (designed for 40% ash content) wherein both fly ash and bottom ash shall be mixed together in predetermined concentration to form the slurry before disposal through pipeline.
ConTec had carried out preliminary design for proposed Ash Dyke (Phase # 1) including specification drawing and expected bill of quantity.
